What happened in round 16 of the NRL?

It was an epic clash of two of the best teams in the NRL on Friday night with the Manly Sea Eagles defeating the Sydney Roosters 24-16. The Sea Eagles continue to impress with their tough footy and with both Daly Cherry-Evans and Kieran Foran back playing together, they are very difficult to stop. They did this without Anthony Watmough and Glenn Stewart who are two of their best forwards.

In Brisbane, the Broncos let the Cronulla Sharks come back and beat them 24-22 after the Broncos were winning 22-0. The Sharks aren't having the best season so far and have struggled to score points but they made the Broncos pay for their mistakes and some how made this a very exciting game.

James Tedesco again suffered a bad knee injury early on in the Tigers' match vs the Canberra Raiders. Despite Tedesco's injury, the Tigers won 19-18 with Braith Anasta kicking the field goal for the victory. Anthony Milford showed his ability for the Raiders setting up this try, but in the end the Raiders weren't quite good enough.

The Cowboys haven't been at their best recently but at home they are very tough to beat and the Rabbitohs are their most recent victim. The Cowboys won 20-18 after dominating the first half, they then fought off a come back from the Rabbitohs to get the 2 points.

It was another tough win for the Warriors who defeated the strong Penrith Panthers on Sunday 30-20. The Warriors got off to a good start but once again the let the other team back in to the game with mistakes. The Warriors showed that their defence has improved a lot and they were able to defend their try line under pressure.

Both the Dragons and Knights put in very solid performances against two teams who have been playing well recently. The Knights were too strong for the Parrmatta Eels on Sunday winning 16-10 while the Dragons defeated the Melbourne Storm 24-12. The Dragons continue to improve with Gareth Widdop and Benji Marshall playing well together.
