Friday night saw the powerful South Sydney Rabbitohs earn themselves a victory over the tough Manly Sea Eagles, 23-4. The Sea Eagles have been in some hot form but thanks to a massive forward pack led by Sam Burgess, the Bunnies were just too good as Burgess showed what an amazing player he is.
In Brisbane, the Broncos beat the Canterbury Bulldogs 41-10 as the Doggies continue to slide down the ladder. Josh Reynolds didn't help as he was put on report for 3 different things - kicking Sam Thaiday in the face, a high tackle and tripping Ben Barba. The Broncos will be happy with the win as they look likely to finish in the top 8.
Saturday was an amazing day of footy as the Newcastle Knights stole a win from the Melbourne Storm thanks to a Kurt Gidley conversion from the sideline to win 32-30. Travis Waddell got a 1 on 1 strip in the closing minutes and scored to give the Knights some hope before Akuila Uate scored with the last play of the game which gave Newcastle reason to celebrate.
In Townsville, the Cowboys smashed the Tigers 64-6 as the Tigers simply didn't show up. The Cowboys look red hot as well with their back line on fire while big boys Jason Taumalolo and Tariq Sims are looking good as well.
As usual, the Hayne Plane was ready for lift off as the Parramatta Eels defeated the Canberra Raiders 18-10. Jarryd Hayne was once again the star man as he led the Eels to victory, while the Raiders looked much better than they have in the last few weeks.
The Cronulla Sharks put up a great effort in Auckland against the Warriors but couldn't quite make the Warriors pay for their poor performance. The Warriors won 16-12 in a scrappy game but the Warriors will be very happy to get the win and the 2 points. Manu Vatuvei was awesome running for more than 200m!
Jamie Soward showed the St George Dragons what they were missing out on as he led the Penrith Panthers to a 16-4 win. The Roosters then defeated the Gold Coast Titans 26-18 with Titans coach, John Cartwright coaching in his last game with the Titans.
