Following The Black Caps In The World Cup - Game Two

The Black Caps played Scotland in their second World Cup game. Scotland were expected to be easily defeated by the Black Caps, but the day before we saw Ireland beat the West Indies. That's why we love sport because nothing is for certain and Scotland came close, but not close enough.

Bowling first, the Black Caps were too good as they dismissed Scotland for 142 runs. Once again Tim Southee and Trent Boult both took wickets, they look like they are going to be very dangerous in this World Cup.

While it was good to see Southee and Boult once again bowl very well, seeing Daniel Vettori work his magic and Corey Anderson chip in with wickets was also good. The Black Caps have a very strong bowling attack and they performed despite their weaker opponent.

That meant that the Black Caps only had to get 143 runs to win. They tried to do it quickly, but unfortunately they lost a lot of wickets. Kane Williamson was the only batsman to score over 30 runs with 38.

Even though the Black Caps lost 7 wickets, they still were able to reach 143 runs and won the game. It doesn't matter how you win in a World Cup, you just have to win games and the Black Caps will be happy that they were able to win despite not batting as well as they should have.

The Black Caps now play against England in a big game. England are good enough to beat the Black Caps, but they will have to play very well. As kiwis we know that they won't be able to beat the mighty Black Caps!
