Friday Frills - Sunday, Funky Sunday

It's Friday today, but all that we really care about is Sunday. We've got the World Cup final we all wanted with the Black Caps taking on Australia in a trans-Tasman battle for the ages but this is pretty damn unfortunate for both the Warriors and Wellington Phoenix ... and myself, you and your dad.

The Warriors have a crisp Sunday arvo game against the Brisbane Broncos which should be a beauty if the weather can stay, well, crisp. The Nix also have a big game against Sydney FC at home, you'd imagine that they would be keen to continue their fine run of form against Sydney who are one of three teams four points behind the Nix.

This will take a fair bit of juggling from hearty Warriors and Nix fans, I imagine they will prioritise with their respective games while staying in touch with the Black Caps, cheers technology. It'll be one of the biggest sporting Sundays of my life, hopefully yours as well so get amongst it and fuck work on Monday.

Both Black Sticks hockey teams have had squads named for their respective upcoming fixtures. The lads head to Malaysia for the Azlan Shah Cup which starts on the 5th of April and welcome back a bunch of players who didn't feature late last year as they were spreading their hockey wings. Andy Hayward and Blair Hilton make their returns along with goalkeeper Devon Manchester.

It's another strong squad with Ryan Archibald named, he joins captain Simon Child as key figures with plenty of experience while Dwayne Rowsell and Nick Woods had been retained as well.

Mark Hager has named a few squads for the ladies, they play Korea and Japan over Easter then they take on Argentina in Gisborne before the Hawkes Bay Cup which starts on April 11. Three squads have been named, which is lovely and confusing but here's the squad to take on Korea, Japan and then the squad for Argentina and the Hawkes Bay Cup. Hoorah.

Steven Adams, Upto Bro?

It's been a while since we've touched based with big Steve, he put in a few good shifts as the OKC Thunder won three on the run before loosing to the Spurs yesterday.
