I Should Have Been Drafted, A Poem
I Should Have Been Drafted
A poem by the Wildcard
I should have been drafted
But instead I got shafted
Those NBA scouts
Have got
No bloody clue
I should have been drafted
Instead I got laughed at
For tryna go pro
When I’m only
6'2
Okay, man, I get it
My range is pathetic
I’ve got two poor left hands
And I can’t
Tie my shoes
But given the chance
I still think I'd enhance
Any team
in America,
Canada too
See, I’ve read all the things
About spacing and rings
And I study dunk vids
On youtube
With intrigue
I know all of the looks
I know all the playbooks
Last year I was third
In my
Fantasy league
I should have been drafted
Had a suit specially crafted
A handshake with Silver and a
Custom made
Hat
Yes, I should have been drafted
I’d've had my legs grafted
But whatever, it’s fine
Won’t lose sleep
Over that
'Stead I’ll watch television
Slam coaching decisions
And test out my luck
Tweeting
Players they suck
I'll flick trash in the bin
Like LeBron for the win
With no hype and no fanfare
No trainings
And such
Yeah forget that, I'm fine
Writing stuff for online
Basketball looks
Like it's probably really, really hard
And I doubt I could do it anyway.
