The Rooks

Anthony Milford – Milford was described as being a cross between Benji Marshall and Ben Barba, which is fair. The kid has a wealth of talent and has basically carried the Raiders, adding some much needed x factor to their attack.

Sosaia Feki – Feki was a part of some fantastic Junior Warriors teams as a centre but has been given his NRL shot on the wing. He has done a fine job and loves to get amongst the tough stuff while also being able to finish tries in style.

Dylan Walker – A star for the future, Walker is destined for great things and is only 18. The NRL is pretty much Walker's oyster at this point and he has been ear marked to play in the halves in the future. Walker is also a very mature young man who is only focussed on being the best league player he can be.

Ngani Laumape – Laumape has spent a lot of time on the wing this year but is more than capable of playing centre for the rookies. Powerfully built with a mature mindset, Laumape is a good advertisement for young league players.

David Nofoaluma – Another solid winger who has shined in a lack lustre Tigers team. Nofoaluma has all the attributes of a great winger and does his job well and then some more. He did this ...

Just watch it crazy put down. Awesome work by the Tigers winger in scoring the try. Happens during the round 20 nrl game between Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers. Watch in hd

Peta Hiku – Has filled in for Manly at fullback in Brett Stewart’s absence and did a fine job. He played in the halves for the Junior Warriors and is more than capable of doing the same for the rooks.

Ben Hampton – The little I saw of Hampton during the Origin period, definitely made me take notice. This guy has it. He just looks a star. He played fullback during his limited game time for the Storm but also played at halfback for the Queensland Under 20’s last year.

George Burgess – This big lump of Burgess has taken the NRL by storm and has the nude pics to prove it. He makes metres every carry and loves to mix it up like any Burgess would.

Luke Keary – The Rabbitohs know they have a talent in Keary and he will be put in the deep end thanks to John Sutton’s injury. He has the ability to play across nearly all of the play making positions and with there being a wealth of play making talent in this year’s group of rookies, Keary gets the nod to start at hooker

Suaia Matagi – A rookie in NRL terms, not in age, Matagi has been awesome this year and definitely deserves some recognition. Not many blokes run the ball harder than him and watching him break into open pastures against the Tigers? One of my favourite moments this year.

Tohu Harris – To me, what best sums up the impact Harris has had in his first season was last week against the Raiders when he received a pass from Kenny Bromwich with only Sisa Waqa outside him and ran like an outside back to set Waqa up. Another man-beast, Harris will be a staple of the Storm team for many years to come

Tyrone Peachey – What a loss this guy is going to be for the Sharks next season. Penrith bound, Peachey is a fantastic player to watch. He has a dynamic aspect to his attacking game that makes him very difficult to contain and love to do some defensive work.

Peni Terepo – The Eels have been pretty shit this year but Terepo never fails to impress. He is a big lad who loves to get through a lot of work in the middle of the field, recording 41 tackles in 58 minutes against the Sharks in Round 14 (for someone who is 186cm and 103kg’s that’s pretty impressive).

Mark Ioane – Another former Junior Warrior who was given a shot with the Titans this year, Ioane is a very solid prop who will do his job week in week out. Nothing fancy but everything you need.

Korbin Sims - The youngest Sims brother, Korbin is not too different to his older brothers in physical stature. The Newcastle prop is huge and has been getting some great game time under Wayne Bennett this season. He will continue to grow in to a fine NRL prop.

Corey Oates – Broncos winger who has been outstanding. Has all the physical tools and will be a beast in years to come. Has played in the centres and on the wing but can play second row pretty easily and will move closer to the action as he matures.

Matt Moylan – Moylan has been front and centre of the impressive Panthers' performances this season, which made it difficult to leave him out. A classy full back who can create and is always keen to run off other play makers, Moylan deserves to at the very least have a spot on the bench. Keep an eye out for a possible shift in to the halves in years to come as well.
