Diary of a Warriors fan

First of all, let's establish something - the Canberra Raiders were rather shit.

With that in mind, the Warriors still did what they needed to and to be honest they did a whole lot more.

We had all hoped at the start of the season that the Warriors skill and flair will be enhanced by a certain Englishman who has a fair amount of both. We're starting to really see how Sam Tomkins fits in to this Warriors team and because he can pretty much do anything, all it took was a bit of time with the lads.

While they look good with silky skills, it's no coincidence that the Warriors are finding form by playing up the guts, north and south or just running bloody hard.

It doesn't matter whether it's the props through the middle, Manu on the second tackle, Ben Matulino on the edge or Konrad Hurrell doing what he does best. The Warriors look awesome when they're keen to use their power and the Raiders looked like they had lost all interest in playing contact sport.

The Matulino 2nd row experiment looks a goodun and there's no reason why he should move back in to the middle. He's big and powerful, much more so than many other 2nd rowers so he's always got an advantage ... and an offload.

I'm also loving Chad Townsend. There isn't much to his game but he just plays like a half. While Shaun Johnson has many strings to his bow, Townsend keeps things moving in the right direction.

What about the returns of Feleti Mateo and Kevin Locke? Well we didn't really see enough of them to make a judgement. Many hate him, but I always reckon you need Mateo in there. Especially with Andrew McFadden at the helm as Mateo HAS to do everything tough. With Locke, he didn't set the world on fire at dummy half but he's a reasonable bench option. With Thomas Leuluai expected back at some stage and Siliva Havili going good, there will be plenty of interesting decisions to be mad.

Next up, the Bulldogs. Shit I love the NRL.
