Kiwi County Tour #16

Jeetan, good.

Kiwi County Tour is now secretly known as the 'Jeetz Appreciation Tour'.

Gloucestershire vs Kent

In Bristol we had Hamish Marshall playing curtain-raiser for Jeetz, with Marshall top-scoring in Gloucestershire's first innings. Gloucs made 221 first up and Marshall hit a slow'n'steady 58 off 192 balls as he tried to anchor the innings for Gloucs, before being dismissed lbw with a glorious strike rate of 30.20.

Kent then took a big lead, putting Gloucs back in as the finished up 533/6dec. Marshall managed to roll his arm over, bowling 3 overs for 21 runs without wicket.

Marshall then top-scored again for Gloucs and took things up a notch, hitting 118 at No.5 as he did his best to keep Gloucs in the contest. Unfortunately, Marshall had little supporting with the next highest score being 24 from the No.10 batsmen and Gloucs were dismissed for 243, losing by an innings and 69 runs.

In his last four County innings, Marshall hit; 19, 6, 6 and 23. So, it's good to see Marshall back amongst the runs, even if it was in a big loss. Marshall's average for the season is still above 50 - 54.57 and he's now got 3 hundreds to his name this season.

Hamish Marshall: 58, 0/21 off 3 overs, 118.

Durham vs Warwickshire

The main-event, Jeetan Patel, didn't quite do as well as Marshall but he did maintain his headline status with more wickets for Warwickshire as they played out a draw with Durham. Durham were first to bat and 5/32 off 15.3 overs from Jeetz had Durham all out for 207, with Patel responsible for the last 4 wickets.

Warwickshire took a handy lead and Jeetz was left stranded on 1* as Warwickshire declared on 381/8. Durham worked their way to 195/3 before they ran out of time to take this game any further, there was enough time for Patel to take another wicket though as he dismissed Durhams opener and finished with 1/43 off 20 overs.

Of Patel's 6 wickets, 3 of them were bowled and Jeetz now has 54 wickets (1st) in 13 games at an average of 24.40 and 2.66rpo.

Jeetan Patel: 5/32 off 15.3 overs, 1*, 1/43 off 20.
