#KiwiWBBL03 Wha: Too Easy For Kiwi Renegades

GOOOOOOOOAT

With two of the three pre-Christmas Day games involving Melbourne Renegades, this brief window was all about Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu. They were taking on Brisbane Heat in Melbourne and won both games, via some dominant performances with bat and ball from the kiwis.

Batting first in the Friday game, Satterthwaite chipped in with 38 off 33 balls and although Satterthwaite doesn't blast boundaries like Sophie Devine for example, if Satterthwaite's hanging around she is classy enough to score over 100sr. Her knock helped Renegades put up a competitive target of 134 and they were able to dismiss Brisbane for 125 to seal the win.

The Renegades survived a Heat comeback after a mid-innings collapse to win a close one at Camberwell

Tahuhu took 2w @ 7.30rpo and Satterthwaite took 1w @ 6.25rpo, in a bowling performance that was repeated in the Saturday game. Heat batted first and the kiwi bowlers were once again dominant; Tahuhu took 2w @ 5rpo and Satterthwaite took 2w @ 2.50rpo. Heat were skittled for just 66  and Renegades chased down their target without losing a wicket, meaning that we couldn't see Satterthwaite in action again.

The Melbourne Renegades were simply far too good for the Brisbane Heat under the Etihad roof, producing a stunning performance with bat and ball

Sydney Sixers also had an easy win over Hobart Hurricanes, which saw Sara McGlashan pretty much do nothing. Batting first, Hurricanes were rolled for 98 and Sixers chased this down in 14 overs, losing just 1 wicket and leaving McGlashan in the sheds.

The next cluster of games is all about Thamsyn Newton as her Perth Scorchers host Melbourne Stars on Boxing Day and the 27th. These are the only games on either day and I've been super intrigued by Newton's journey with Perth, which has me excited to put the focus on her and whether she can continue this freakish run of wickets, along with showing the WBBL what she can do with the willow.

Peace and love 27.
