Domestic Daily - October 29
Game Sitch (Situation for those who aren't very cool)
- Wellington win! The Firebirds chased down 307 after Canterbury declared on 407. As we hoped for, Henry Nicholls got his season of to a great start with the Kings hitting 119. Unfortunately he was over shadowed by some fine Wellingtonian batting.
- Otago did well to take a few wickets yesterday but couldn't stop Central Districts getting a decent lead and declaring. However the Volts are in a bit of a situation at 48/4 around 200 runs behind CD. Tomorrow's the final day so you'd have to think that Otago will be keen to tough it out, then see what happens.
Give Him A Good Dinner
- The Firebirds can thank Stephen Murdoch and James Franklin for the win. Murdoch hit 155 off 164 while Franklin cracked 75 off 54 #NotBad.
- It's the return of the Doug! Dougie Bracewell hit 75 down the order for CD then took 2 wickets including the prized scalp of Jesse Ryder.
Observations From The Observatory
- Canterbury did a decent job of making a game of it against the Firebirds. They'll be happy that Nicholls, Greg Dawson and Cam Fletcher all got their seasons off to a good start with some runs. Andy Ellis? It's meat and vege for him.
- Bracewell and Ben Wheeler have a big day ahead of them. They'll be looked at to take wickets and win the game for the Stags #Doug.
