Domestic Daily - The Return Of Plunket Shield #Rejoice
Game Sitch
- Wellington could only manage 199 thanks to a solid effort from Auckland's bowlers. Matt Quinn picked up 4/41 with Michael Bates, Dean Bartlett and Carl Cachopa picking up 2 each. The Aces are 117/2 with Colin Munro on 39 not out.
- Central Districts managed to bowl Canterbury out for 269 with only 2 metre Peter Fulton getting any runs of note with 76. The chief destroyer was Doug Bracewell who picked up 6/41 as the Stags finishing the day on 40/2. Ryan McCone picked up both CD wickets.
- Northern Districts vs Otago was rained on pretty heavily but they managed to get some play underway mid-afternoon. Which was enough time for all 5 of Otago's bowlers to pick up a wicket, leaving ND 188/5 at the end of the day. Daniel Flynn and Brad Wilson both got 60 odds, but their young middle order couldn't add to the good start.
He Deserves A Mean Feed
- Doug! Screw the food, give Doug Bracewell some beers as he's back amongst the wickets. 6, that's definitely the way to work yourself back in to the mix for a Black Caps spot.
- The Cachopa's, take them out to a buffet on Auckland's North Shore please! The 3 brothers took 9 catches between them with the oldest bro Carl picking up 2 wickets as well.
Observations From The Observatory
- Roneel Hira, I'm not too sure how he'll go at the top of the order in the Plunket Shield. He's a decent option in the shorter formats because he's a bit of a slasher, but I'll keep tabs on how he goes in the longer form.
- If you want a young seamer to keep an eye on, Matt Quinn is your lad. He's got all the tools and a decent record to back it up, his 4 wickets came at 2.28 runs an over as well.
- Dougie! You may have gathered that I love Douglas, but he's slid down the Black Cap seam bowling rankings as of late. 6 wickets isn't too shabby however.
