#KiwiWBBL05: Semi-Final Set Up

Finals in Women's Big Bash League are locked in for next week and after Brisbane Heat grabbed a win in their only game from the weekend, they'll be hosting the semi-finals and final. Adelaide Strikers slipped out of this last round with a win and a loss, allowing for Brisbane to seal 1st spot and the Strikers will face Perth Scorchers while Brisbane take on Melbourne Renegades.

Leggy Amelia Kerr comes into finals weekend with a bit of form as she took 2w @ 2rpo in 2ov, vs Melbourne Stars. This was a 10-over game and the Heat restricted their opposition to 87/6, with Kerr the only Heat bowler to concede less than 7rpo in that innings. Maddy Green couldn't cash in, dismissed for 5 as the Heat strolled to victory in 8.4ov.

Beth Mooney starred as the Heat chased down the Stars' 6-87 with eight deliveries remaining to take top spot on a wet Melbourne day #WBBL05

Kerr is now on a string of games with wickets, taking 1+ wicket in each of her last four games. With 12w @ 25.41avg/6.18rpo overall, Kerr is ranked 19th in wickets and is the 4th best Brisbane bowler, however Kerr has been more economical than the three Heat bowlers who have taken more wickets.

Sophie Devine's run-scoring streak continues after she put up scores of 46* @ 106.97sr and 60 @ 157.89sr in a win and a loss vs Sydney Sixers. Devine is now 1st in runs with 699 runs @ 77.66avg/130.16sr and her tally of sixes jumps up to 28; no other player has more than 19 sixes. While Devine doesn't have consecutive 50+ scores recently, she's gone 30+ in her last 9inns which still looks amazing considering Devine has hit 50+ in 7 of those 9inns.

A superb bowling performance led by Megan Schutt and Sarah Coyte helped the Adelaide Strikers claim their first-ever win over the Sydney Sixers #WBBL05

Alyssa Healy hit a blazing 84 off 38 as the Sixers ended their WBBL|05 campaign with a win over the ladder leading Strikers

Suzie Bates on the other hand, struggled with scores of 1 and 0. Bates did take 1w in either game, while Devine's 1w in the loss has her in 6th for wickets with 16w @ 20.25avg/6.35rpo. Bates has quietly put together 7w @ 25.28avg/7.69rpo, bowling just 23 overs compared to most of the bowlers with more wickets than Bates who have bowled 40+ overs.

Melbourne Renegades have Lea Tahuhu, who will hopefully find a way to fire in the semi-final vs Brisbane. Tahuhu has gone wicket-less in her last 3inns and has 9w @ 35.44avg/5.90rpo, which has her 27th in wickets but she's got the 3rd-most wickets for the Renegades.
