Lydia Ko Mixtape 2019: Riding The Wave
A string of tough results has been snapped by Lydia Ko as she registered a tied-10th at the Women's PGA Championship as the standard dose of ups and downs rolls on. April and May saw Ko put up three finishes outside the top-40, the worst being a tied-61st at the LPGA Championship and since then Ko has steadily improved to get back sniffing around the top-10.
Ko had a tied-39th at the US Women's Open at the end of May and June has seen Ko enjoy a tied-16th before this 10th in Minnesota last weekend. With rounds of -1, -2, +4 and -4, Ko did well to bounce back after than third round to finish -3 overall as Australia's Hannah Green was the winner at -9.
The last time I jammed a Lydia Ko Mixtape, was May 7th and since then Ko has played three tournaments; 39T, 16T and 10T. Here's the usual look at Ko's stats and how they have changed since her 61T back in early May...

As expected there is minor improvement in Ko's numbers as her results hav improved. Ko is also 31st in total prize money, 31st in the Race to CME Globe Season and a decent 18th in the Rolex Rankings. While these rankings may not resemble the irresponsible expectations many folks have about Ko, they reflect her standing in women's golf nicely and after a rough patch, Ko has got back to some consistently solid golf.
Next up for Ko is the Arkansas Championship this weekend, meaning we'll be back next week to see if Ko can continue this run of top-20 finishes.
