A Week In Hip Hop

What better way to kick it off than with Bear Grylls jumping on Sway in the Morning on Shade 45? Unfortunately he doesn't drop a hot 16 though...

The former Man vs Wild host, Bear Grylls stopped by Sway in the Morning to discuss his new show "Running Wild With Bear Grylls." Bear first spoke about how he adjusts to dealing with the city. Additionally, he shared which celebrity was the worst to deal with on the show.

Someone who did drop some hot bars was Joey Bada$$ who popped in to the Tim Westwood studio, which is apparently at his crib. Any Youtube thrasher knows that Tim Westwood freestyles are the go to option and Joey goes in. Imagine meeting Tim Westwood...

Joey Badass goes in with a legendary freestyle at the Crib Session.

From all reports, Splendor in the Grass was a bit of a doozy and Childish Gambino went hard with this freestyle. As you can guess, he takes a few shots but it makes me sad how anything like this or Kendrick Lamar's 'Control' verse get widely known for the shots fired, who cuuuuuuuuurs.

Gambino's last few bars of his freestyle. Calls out Kendrick, Drake and Schoolboy Q.

Speaking of K Dot, a short film has been made to partner his debut album Good Kid Maad City. The project will debut on the 9th August at the Sundance's Next Festival. Given that GKMC was critically acclaimed for it's portrayal of Lamar's life and his story telling ability, it's safe to say that the film will be pretty cool. It puts the album in perspective for me, like there's enough content in the music to make a film (albeit 14mins) ... compare that to a few other albums where you'd get much less content.

Pharrell's teamed up with Timberland to share these dopey dope kicks to the world courtesy of Bee Line (BBC). Wouldn't mind a pair actually ... C'mon Pharrell bro hook it up g
