The Panel
Standout Performer
Chief Biggums - Matt Moylan - despite being one of the new cats, he had the composure of a veteran in the Monday night clash against the Broncos. He scored a try, whacked a few would-be defenders and slotted the winning field goal after dropping a bomb only a few minutes before.
Mystery Doctor - Sam Tomkins or Kieran Foran. Tomkins is showing what made him so good in England, he's not a big lad but he seems to a slippery mofo. Foran is a beast, simple.
The Bain - Tough week for me. Quite a few booming performers. Take your pick from Brett Stewart, Matt Moylan, Sam Tomkins or Anthony Milford.
Battler Making His Mark
Chief Biggums - Corey Parker - he's getting on in age, but he's some remarkable form especially following on from his amazing Origin game 3 display. He just sweats offloads, metres and tackles when he plays, a true veteran and leader.
Mystery Doctor - Elijah Taylor. The guy does it all and is earning himself a fantastic reputation around the league.
The Bain - Jarrod Croker. He is one of those dark horses. Tough on D, kicks goals, runs solid lines. Oh yeah and he scores a ton of points too.
Biggest Thing I learnt
Chief Biggums - The Warriors have hit that time of year where they start filling their bandwagon up again - is this the year? Who knows? There's still a fair way to go before finals kick off and the top 8 is so close anything could happen.
Mystery Doctor - Matt Moylan definitely has what it takes to slip in to the number 6 jersey for the Panthers. No Peter Wallace, no Tyrone Peachey but with Moylan, there's hope.
The Bain - Manly are the real deal, the Storm are unpredictable and it's gonna be a long end to the season for the Tigers, Titans and the Sharks.
Young Gun Watch
Chief Biggums - Clint Gutherson - The Sea Eagles have a knack for finding quality outside backs and Gutherson is the newest addition. He scored a try, set up one and had a few line breaks. Dat haircut doe
Mystery Doctor - Josh Jackson and Dale Finucane are two of the toughest, grittiest NRL forwards doing the rounds with the Dogs. Keep an eye on them for rep honours soon.
The Bain - Milford and Moylan. Milford was unstoppable guiding the raiders to win and Moylan was in every play for the Panthers. He even slotted the winning drop goal!
Team Performance
Chief Biggums - Warriors - It's nice to be able to say the Warriors for this one. A cohesive attacking unit, energetic defense as well as some creativity with the old scrum push leading to a try. It was a good weekend to be a Warriors fan.
Mystery Doctor - For me, at this stage of the season it's all about putting together slick performances and while the Bulldogs put in a gritty effort, Manly and the Warriors showed their hands.
The Bain - I'll go the Warriors thrashing of the Eels firstly. Also, the Doggies gritty win over the Storm was huge!
Needs A Hug
Chief Biggums - Josh McGuire - his knock on from the kick off led to the Panthers sealing the game with a field goal in the final few minutes. He'd actually been playing a good game until then, but hey - it happens big fella. No hugs for Hodges though, you just caked the play the ball plain and simple.
Mystery Doctor - Corey Norman, the guy needs a hug and needs to be told how it is. He always looks like a sour puss.
The Bain - Tigers. Have a blatant try disallowed then manly go and score in the next set. Changed the momentum of the game completely. And they lost pat richards early on too
