Diary Of A Warriors Fan
The NRL in 2014 is weird, freaky, just all round crazy.
It's been said since week one and it's only gone to another level each week.
The Warriors went in to the match against the Sharks having slipped out of the eight thanks to a nice win from the Eels who crept up the ladder. They emerged from the game with 2 points and in 6th spot.
Somehow people still complain, but they're dumb.
Yeah it wasn't sharp from the Warriors, maybe a little hard to watch but at this stage of the campaign games shouldn't be subject to mass analysis. Did they win? Yup. On to the next.
The Sharks were clearly up for the contest and would have run a few teams close with that performance, yet we won. I think I speak for all Warriors fans when I say that in nearly every season previously we would have lost that game.
It's hard to pinpoint some stand outs ... Manu was good AS ALWAYS. Many teams would absolutely love to have Manu taking the second hit up, while Ngani Laumape showed that he should keep David Fusitua on the bench for the rest of the season.
Wait, while the Sharks were without Paul Gallen and as Andrew Fifita broke his arm and everything else the Warriors lost Tui Lolohea and Dane Nielsen throwing a spanner in to our back line. Simon Mannering spent time at centre, then Sione Lousi crept in to centre with Ben Henry slotting in on the other side.
We had some adversity as well. But we're good enough, deep enough and smart enough to adjust and adapt. That's what I'll take out from the game. We showed that we have the players, the heart, the desire and the attitude. We've always known that we have the skill, but on yesterday the lads showed things that we've wanted to see.
The Sharks were good, we weren't. We won.
