Diary Of A Warriors Fan
I like Matty Johns, some people don't but I thoroughly enjoy his opinions and thoughts on the NRL. Unfortunately for any Warriors fan, his thoughts usually involve something negative about the Warriors.
It's was like a snap of reality when Johns said something along the lines of - this looks like another under performing season for the Warriors. Something you can't disagree with.
Those folk who aren't Lion Red guzzlers are quick to jump ship when the "same old Warriors" come out to play (/not play) ... while us Warriors fans live in our fantasy world. Well it looks a lot like the same old Warriors.
In football (soccer), if you put on a performance like that at home in front of a large crowd who have stuck by you thick and thin, not to mention on a beautiful day, heads usually roll. It was border line disgusting to see such a lack of anything, fair play the Roosters are pretty freaking good ... but please, at least show up and make your fans proud. No one should be in the slightest bit proud.
This late in the season, a team should be settled on. Injuries aside, the coach should be able to roll out a consistent squad who have chemistry and know each other inside out. Why such changes like Chad Townsend slipping in to reserve grade were made? Who knows.
I won't get too negative because, well there's still a slight chance so the faith must be kept.
But you could see against the Knights, they were out enthused. With their season on the line, the Warriors once again simply didn't show up. You watch the All Blacks and you watch their effort, their desire, their determination - it's un-matched. The Warriors are the complete opposite and it sucks.
Who knows who will line up next week against the Titans. I simply don't care, all I care about is winning ... so fire up, smash some blokes, play some footy and win! Shit.
