Diary Of A Warriors Fan - Disgusting, Yet Again

Let's play 'who missed the most tackles?' again...

Leading the way we have Mason Lino and Tui Lolohea who both missed five tackles. They are young halves, so I'll cut them some slack.

Missing four tackles were Dominique Peyroux and Albert Vete. Peyroux has shown why he's off to the Super League at the ripe ol' age of 26 over the past few weeks, doing the complete opposite of taking his chance. Just quietly, I see zero point in Peyroux playing next week. Might as well just give some youngster an opportunity as things can't get much worse.

Vete? Well he made the most metres and had the most tackle busts for the Warriors, so I'll take his missed tackles as a payment for being our best forward.

Where things start to get really shit, is this group who missed three tackles. Keep in mind that Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks led the Tigers' missed tackle count with three - Nathan Friend, Bodene Thompson, Ryan Hoffman and Charlie Gubb.

Andrew McFadden has been quick to point out that there are a lot of young players in this team. One look at the team sheet from yesterday should remind everyone that this is a severely weakened Warriors team, but in a world where the Warriors aren't somewhat of a joke, their pride and professionalism would at least see them be competitive.

I have used the word disgusting far too frequently during this slump, but I don't use it lightly.

Look around the NRL and teams who's seasons are over, still compete and make opposition teams work hard for their win or, they grab an upset win. The Warriors were easily capable of making the top eight, even without Shaun Johnson but crumbled when they still had plenty to play for. How can we expect them to have any pride in their performance when there's nothing on the line?

As you can imagine, there's only so much you can write about a club who clearly have no personal pride. Let alone pride in their club and fans.

Ya know what makes this even crazier? The Warriors completed 87% of their sets to 86% from the Tigers, the Warriors made less errors 7-6 and the Warriors had more offloads. Obviously none of that really matters though when you missed 43 damn tackles.

Fortunately for the Warriors, they are away to the Bulldogs in their last game of the season. Had they been playing at home, I would have encouraged fans not to show up to let the club know just how disgusting 2015 has turned out to be.

Yuck.

At least Ivan Cleary might come back?
