Kiwi NRL Stocks Round 21

Stocks Up

Dene Halatau - Having to fill in on the Tigers' edge, Halatau did a nice job and showed that he's still as versatile as ever. This comes after starting at hooker in Robbie Farah's absence and the Tigers definitely need Halatau's experience.

Ava Seumanufagai - In 47 minutes off the bench, Seumanufagai was one of the Tigers best forwards as well as one of their busiest with 15 carries and 21 tackles. Those 15 carries produced 132 metres, which was more than any Storm forward.

Roger Tuivasa-Sheck - I don't think I'll ever tire of highlighting how awesome Tuivasa-Sheck is and he dished it all up again against the Bulldogs with 269 metres and nine tackle busts. He carried the footy 25 times, which was the most from either team with James Graham in second with 19 and only Kane Evans had more off-loads than Tuivasa-Sheck (4 to 3).

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves - For a prop to cross the 200 metre mark is top shelf and Waerea-Hargreaves did just that in an inspiring performance. He made 210 metres in 59 metres with six tackle busts.

Siosiua Taukeiaho - I also never tire of highlighting the efforts of Taukeiaho who this time ran for 127 minutes in 37 minutes with four tackle busts.

Charlie Gubb - The Warriors don't have too many forwards who play with an intensity that Gubb does and against a rugged Sharks pack, Gubb almost made as many metres as Simon Mannering (104m vs 107m) despite only playing 31 minutes to Mannering's 80 minutes.

Michael Chee Kam - While he wasn't overly busy, game time sees Chee Kam's stocks rise. I'm not sure if his move to the Tigers is a good move for him or not, but a new deal is generally always a good thing, right?

Benji Marshall - Despite a mediocre first-half, Marshall bounced back to produce a game-winning effort against the Knights. Game-winning? Well three try assists usually helps your team win doesn't it?

Issac Luke - When Luke is running for 131 metres and breaking five tackles, the Rabbitohs will usually win as he sparks their rampaging-up-the-guts style.

Bureta Faraimo - Every time I see Faraimo play for the Eels, I wonder why he doesn't get more of a look in, especially when Ryan Morgan is playing each week. Against the Titans Faraimo played in the centres and broke six tackles in running for 110 metres.

Stocks Down

Manaia Cherrington - Understandably, Cherrington only got 12 minutes off the bench and the fact that he was even on the bench was a bit of a surprise.

Tohu Harris - It looks as though Harris will be used as a centre for the rest of season, but he'll need to improve on the four tackles he missed against the Tigers.

Sam Moa - Out for four weeks with a wrist injury, Moa will be hoping to be back in time for the finals.

Sosaia Feki - Once again yanked for Ben Barba, I hate you Shane Flanagan.

Iosia Soliola - Broken jaw and gone for the season ruins a great season back in the NRL for Soliola and the Raiders will missed his experience and efficiency on their left edge.

Alex Glenn - It was a horrible night for the Broncos which is reflected in the fact that the usually reliable Glenn missed six tackles, yup six as the Broncos forward pack were dominated by Manly's forwards.

Jason Nightingale - An ankle injury in the Dragons win over the Knights will see Nightingale miss the Dragons trip to Wellington.

Isaac John - Five missed tackles take the shine off what was a reasonable return to the NRL for John. He will however get the chance to rectify this as he remains in the halves for the Panthers clash against the Eels where he won't have the big Rabbitohs forwards running at him all day.
