#KiwiNRL Wahine: Kiwis Dominate For Undefeated Brisbane Broncos

One team in the Women's NRL Premiership is undefeated and while Brisbane Broncos may not have as much #KiwiNRL flavour as Aotearoa Warriors, the Broncos boast the biggest wahine crew of the three Australian clubs. Hence, it's no surprise that the Broncos look like Premiership favourites after two games as they rely heavily on a high quality #KiwiNRL wahine crew that are making huge contributions to a winning team.

On Friday night, the Broncos defeated Sydney Roosters 14-4 with Teuila Fotu-Moala showcasing why she's one of the best edge forwards in the world. Otahuhu's Fotu-Moala scored a try and had the most running metres of any player in this game, along with 2 line breaks which was another game-high, along with a game-high 9 tackle busts. Her 119m from 12 runs saw Fotu-Moala hover around the magical 10m/run mark and she was also one of three Broncos with an offload.

Why stop there? Fotu-Moala was also the only Broncos forward, other than hooker Brittany Breayley to play 60 minutes (full game). This came after Fotu-Moala had 60m/6runs in Brisbane's big win over St George Illawara Dragons last week, 1 line break, 2 tackle busts and 2 offloads.

Not only do the Broncos have a premier edge forward, perhaps the most dynamic, destructive forward in the competition, they have Maitua Feterika on the other edge. Feterika a Manurewa Marlins junior and in the first game vs Dragons she had a try, 41m/5runs, 1 line break and 5 tackle busts. Feterika then had 91m/13runs, 2 tackle busts and an offload vs Roosters; Fotu-Moala and Feterika were two of the three Broncos with an offload vs Roosters.

Joining the all #KiwiNRL wahine edge forward duo, the Broncos also have Kimiora Nati, Rona Peters, Ngatokotoru Arakua and Karley Te Kawa.

Nati is Manurewa junior who is doing a solid job in the halves, playing a supporting role to halfback Ali Brigginshaw. Peters is a Kiwi Ferns veteran, who is based in Queensland, represented Queensland in the first Women's State of Origin (Feterika did too) and based on the two games thus far, Peters is a ruthless middle forward. There's also an interesting battle coming up next weekend as Peters will take on her sisters Hilda Mariu and possibly Kahurangi Peters, both of whom are in the Warriors squad.

Ngatokotoru Arakua has been coming off the bench for Brisbane and the Papakura Sea Eagles junior has offered immense impact; 113m/12runs vs Dragons, 95m/12runs vs Roosters. Making it even better is that Arakua played 28 minutes vs Dragons and then just 21mins vs Roosters, meaning that she's incredibly busy, efficient in her work.

Te Kawa didn't play the first game, but was promoted to start on the wing vs Roosters and was impressive in her first start; 65m/7runs, 1 line break assist, 1 try assist and 4 tackle busts. A Papakura junior Te Kawa made a fantastic case for further selection and with Nati playing mainly on the right, alongisde Fotu-Moala, this trio could build into an intriguing right edge combination.

Lilieta Maumau is also in the Broncos squad but hasn't played yet. The Otahuhu Leopards junior is stuck behind an almighty Broncos middle forward group, so she may struggle for game time in the remaining games. Unless the stars align to give us seven #KiwiNRL wahine in the Broncos team, the undefeated Broncos team.
