Mourinho’s Notebook – October 10

Roy Keane: Madman and Literary Icon

The Second Half, by Roy Keane was released this week, an update/sequel to his original autobiography. You know, the one in which he declared that he’d deliberately crunched Alf-Inge Haaland’s knee?  Anyway, the new one was ghost written by Booker Prize winning novelist Roddy Doyle, which is mental in itself. Maybe it’s Keano’s beard, reminds him of Ernest Hemingway or something. Oh, and controversies abound! Keane’s gone after Manchester United, the media, his ex-teammates, Sir Alex Ferguson… so much about Fergie. There’s still plenty of bad blood there, it seems. He once gave Peter Schmeichel a black eye, too.

Happy Birthday Diego Costa

The Chelsea striker turned a spritely 45 this week and… wait, he’s only 26!? Ok then. Anyway, the Spanish national team wished him the best and got him a cake. Yaya Toure’s probably streaming with jealousy.

The FBI Investigated Man Utd Fans in 2005

Not because they suspected that a lot of them weren’t, in fact, real fans at all and were simply jumping on the bandwagon of the most successful team at the time, no. It was actually over threats that Malcolm Glazer received during the controversial process of his takeover of the Red Devils. Clearly them Yanks don’t understand how we Actual Football fans get things done. Nuffin’ like a friendly brick fru the window ta welcome some geezer to the naybahood.
