Kiwi County Tour #7 (Royal London One-Day Cup)

OG Jeetz

An off day in the Royal London One Day cup gives us a teeny weeny window to enjoy some Kiwi County Tour performances. Another round of games goes down Sunday in England, Monday in Aotearoa so keep that in mind when you're reading this (published Sunday NZT) and this is a fairly swift run through with most of the lads playing one game, some two.

Matt Henry had a good week, putting himself back among the top wicket-takers in the RLODC. Tied for 4th on 11 wickets, Henry's overall average is 23.63/5.09rpo and the next best kiwi is Jeetan Patel, who has 9w @ 18.11avg/4.52.

Ross Taylor had another good week with the bat with a knock of 47 and while Taylor's ranked 32nd, behind Tom Latham on 27th in runs, Taylor has the superior average of 41.20 (vs Latham's 37.16avg). Taylor has had just 5inns, while many of the run-scorers ahead of him have 6 or 7inns.

I also slipped up and breezed over the presence of Leigh Kasperek and Rachel Priest in the women's competition. Priest is playing for Wales, while Kasperek is in action for Yorkshire, joining Bates who is playing for Hampshire. I doubt they will be in action this weekend as the rest of the White Ferns squad has arrived in the United Kingdom for their T20 and ODI series, which I'll preview in the next few days.

We also had the rather crazy occurrence of two kiwi captains in one game, with Tom Latham leading Durham as they lost to Jeetan Patel's Warwickshire. Latham didn't do anything of note with the bat, but his team did reach 299/8 in their 50 overs Warwickshire then chased in down with an over to spare. The OG Lord Jeetz snatched the bragging rights there.
