A Week In Hip Hop
Dizzee Rascal, the main man from the big L - D - N! Used to bang Dizzee all day thanks to his grimey style and the fact that his English accent/slang allowed him to pretty much spit out the funniest words in hip hop history. He's back, well he's back in my mind after doing whatever he's been up to over the past few years. He dropped this new video for 'Pagans' which signals a return to the fire that Dizzee spits, the completely unique beats he raps over and just the aura of an Englishman spitting on the mic. Oh and the music video is cool as hell.
Not sure if there's been a more engrossing music interview done this year, because these two here are mega interesting. Obviously people are eagerly anticipating giving their ears some pleasure when they get their hands on the new PRhyme project, but in the mean time just watch DJ Premier and Royce da 5'9' spin the yarns
To tease you all a little more, J Cole dropped this video earlier in the week to get some hype for his new project. I kinda fell off the Cole wagon after his first few tapes, but watching this definitely got me back on board. The dude is regular as fuck which makes me smile and this video gets me buzzing because with artists like Cole, they've learned a hell of a lot about the game and themselves since bursting on to the scene. These projects offer a great opportunity to reflect and put all their learnings in to a creative thing.
I'm sorry team, but here's another tease. Joey Bada$$ dropped a trailer for his upcoming album B4 Da $$, which is eerily similar to J Cole's but different enough to kill any copy cat ideas. Niggas, wait can I say that? Shit, I mean brothers/niggas be creative these days so big up big up!
I got my dirty little hands on Big K.R.I.T's new album Cadillactica which is awesome. It's so unique that it stands alone on its own little throne and I've been vibing to it heavy. So heavy that I keep procrastinating actually writing some sort of review, I'll get there. Any way, 'Soul Food' is one of my favourite jams from the album and here's some behind the scenes stuff.
Last but not least we have Tech N9ne dropping some knowledge.
