The Panel

Standout performer

Mystery Doctor - Jonathan Thurston gave us touches of class and silky smooth crispness that will ensure that the Cowboys are always a chance. Thurston can turn plays in to try scoring opportunities with a subtle touch and damn he had a few of those against the Doggies

The Bain - Will have to go with Jarryd Hayne. Single handily won the game for the Eels. Just too easy, Freak!

Senor Spectre - You can’t go past Mr Jarryd Hayne. He will be up there for Dally M that’s for sure and it’s because of performances like this weekend passed. Single handily turned the match on its head, with sheer breathtaking skill. Close second to Andrew Fifita who is playing good, strong footy.

Battler making his mark

Mystery Doctor - Bryson Goodwin has come good at the Bunnies and is nearly the perfect winger thanks to a decent ability to finish off hard work inside him.

The Bain - Dale Finucane. Slotted into the starting lineup nicely. He was solid in the Dogs pack.

Senor Spectre - Shaun Fensom is still the ultimate battler. 50 odd tackles and he literally throws his body into most players far bigger than him.

Biggest thing you learnt

Mystery Doctor - The Cowboys hold the hopes for the Queensland clubs. The Titans won't feature deep in to playoffs and it's hard to see the Broncos doing much either.

The Bain - Manly are still the team to beat, the Panthers could be in trouble and the Storm are back to what they do best (win).

Senor Spectre - The Warriors won’t ever change... mainly writing this so they do the opposite and actually become consistent. They are so up and down, I was getting so jacked up before, but the last two weeks have let me down.

Young gun watch

Mystery Doctor - James Roberts, geez Louise this guy can move.

The Bain - Tough one for me. I'll split it between two. Jake Friend who had a ball on Friday. Made 69 tackles and was lethal on attack. And then Dylan Walker for the Bunnies. He's quick, is very agile, got a sick step, nice skills and is also good on defence.

Senor Spectre - Luke Keary had to play the majority of the Souths game on Monday night and he didn’t put a foot wrong. His ability to look calm and collected show he will be a star of the future.

Most impressive team performance

Mystery Doctor - I'm a go with Manly here, they stayed in the contest for 60 minutes then they just went up a gear ... classy.

The Bain - Has to be the Knights over the roosters. Bouncing back from a poor loss to the Titans against the premier's. Great come from behind too!

Senor Spectre - Cowboys can’t win away but bang! They did it against the Bulldogs which is a fairly decent effort and good on them! If they get more consistent away from home, they could be deadly.

Team/player that needs a hug

Mystery Doctor - I'd give him a hug, but it might hurt Kieran Foran's shoulder.

The Bain - Souths. Sutton gone. Burgess went off too. Pretty sure another player went off too (Turner??) Hopefully it's not an early end to big Sammy's NRL career!

Senor Spectre - John Sutton. Injured for a good 4 weeks or so heading right into the heated part of the season. Seems like a bloody nice guy, so hopefully he’s back up and running before the finals!!
