Diary Of A Warriors Fan
Ah, Mark Tookey aye. Big ups to Mark Tookey.
I was never really that good at math, nor was I too interested in it. As long as I could add this number to that number, subtract this number from that number and basically figure out how much change I was supposed to be getting, I was ... and still am happy.
I don't care for complex mathematical situations. And by complex I mean anything more than multiplication or division.
So I don't really care for all the possibilities that await the Warriors should the loose next week against the Panthers. They simply have to win.
They handled their bizzo against the Titans, putting in an aggressive, slightly barnstorming and reasonably clinical display. But let's be fair the Titans were cake.
The Panthers have just come off a finals calibre game against Manly, while the Warriors smashed a mediocre GC side. I don't know whether it's good to kinda handle business in our little corner, much like a real intense training run ... or play a game like the Panthers did against Manly at a packed Brooky.
Either way, we got what we wanted from our forwards - some tough footy. Sione Lousi, Ben Matulino, Suaia Matagi, Seb Ikahifio and of course Jacob Lillyman all ripped in and having them set the tone was awesome.
Is it weird that it's taken this long to settle on a back line? I'm not sure which direction McFaddy Fads will go, but Dominique Peyroux looked very solid. He's a big boy but very athletic as well which gives some extra steel on the edge.
And lastly, Sam Tomkins. He's shown that he's well worth the price tag and against the Titans he was up to his usual antics, even showing off his kicking game. It was lovely to see him step up when we needed it and I couldn't think of anything better than for him to lead us to glory and for everyone, all the silly Aussies to take him seriously.
