NRL Poetry - The Warriors
A season of ups and downs, what's new?
Some games they played like clowns, call them the red nosed crew
Other games they looked sound, their forwards blew through
They even looked like champions in a few.
True true, but here we sit
Mad Monday
Twerkin' Tuesday
Wimpering Wednesday
Ah, shit
They didn't make the eight, so haters gonna hate
While the lads kick back, relax, reflect on the not so great
We, the fans partake in a mass debate
Out of 10, where did the Warriors rate?
Probably 5.5 or 6
Good some days, others they were pooz
Some days I'd watch, but rather play pick up sticks
Their effort and lack of grind would bore me to a snooze
But we must remember, it was far from smooth sailing
From silly owners acting like politicians, I mean children
To injuries and a new coach, they had to weather a transition.
Now they have a foundation to build skyward
Forget player power, an off season is not what they need
When fatigue sets in, the Warriors look wayward
It's clear that fitness and toughness is the seed
Size, skill, flair and panache will help that seed blossom
So next season we can find our clutch and stop playing possum.
Don't get too down though, Warriors faithful
It's far from doom and gloom
You, we, I and she just want to see the Warriors fulfill their potential
