Kiwi NRL Stocks Round 13
Stocks Up
Jordan Kahu - Rolling around all the backline positions, Kahu continues to show that he's a player who can be relied on to do a job and do it very well. Against Manly, playing on the wing, Kahu kicked a few goals, ran for over 100 metres, broke a bunch of tackles and had a few cheeky assists as well.
Peta Hiku - Once again, Hiku was one of Manly's best in a loosing effort. He always looks lively and his 13 carries were the second most for Manly.
Manaia Cherrington - With Robbie Farah on Origin duty, Cherrington is getting a good opportunity to come off the bench and offer the Tigers some spark. He did a bit of that, hopefully we'll see him continue to rise to the challenge through the Origin period.
Martin Taupau - Another strong effort from Taupau in his 55 minutes on the field. He ran for 123 metres, broke four tackles and got three offloads out in a decent all round performance.
Eddy Pettybourne - If you're getting 100 metres off the bench through the middle, you're giving your team some impact.
Bryson Goodwin - The outside backs for the Bunnies dined out on the Warriors and Goodwin's the only kiwi in that group so, salute.
Ben Matulino - His team was poor, but Matulino again topped 100 metres and got his mandatory three tackle busts and three offloads.
Dallin Watene-Zelezniak - Not spectacular, but DWZ showed that he can handle playing fullback in the NRL.
Tohu Harris - The big fella played centre and did it with ease.
Sosaia Feki - Back in the NRL and a cheeky 157 metres with five tackle busts.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck - Standard effort; 197 metres, five tackle busts but he also looked the most likely in a Roosters team full with attacking talent.
Siosiua Taukeiaho - Against a rugged Sharks forward pack, Taukeiaho still got through his impressive work rate and he's becoming a integral part of this Roosters forward pack.
Curtis Rona - Try time, he doesn't stop.
Sam Kasiano - A try, 108 metres, a try assist, three tackle busts, two offloads, a line break and a line break assist all in 44 minutes off the bench.
Jason Nightingale - A shining light for the Dragons with 144 metres and four tackle busts.
Stocks Down
Steve Matai - It was a tough night for Matai in Brisbane as he missed four tackles and couldn't make much of an impact with the ball.
Carlos Tuimavave - This isn't for playing badly, as Tuimavave has done a nice job in the halves for Newcastle. But it's hard to ignore how poorly the Knights have played over the past two weeks, which coincides with Tuimavave's promotion. Hopefully he's given the chance to right the ship.
Issac Luke - Why the forward passes for?
Shaun Johnson - No assists in anything, three runs of the footy, a few errors and three missed tackles. Not ideal.
Elijah Taylor - Ivan Cleary would want a bit more from Taylor than 26 metres off three tackles and not much else. He can ball play and he gets through big minutes which is exactly what the Panthers need.
Sam McKendry - The Panthers also need some go forward and McKendry's 34 minutes in which he ran for 34 metres with five carries doesn't offer much of that.
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves - Unfortunately, JWH crossed that line and conceded a few penalties as well as firing the Sharks forwards into battle.
