OH, TRIPLE DOUBLE ALERT!
If you’ve seen this week’s episode of ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’, then you’ll be aware of the legend of baseballer Wade Boggs.
A mostly impressive away performance was almost poached at the end as Wollongong came surging back to tie things up, before Mika Vukona iced this baby with some free throws and rebounding and basically all of what we’ve come to expect of him in his great career.
Adding to my notable mentions are Damian Lillard and Jimmy Butler. Both players have stepped up this year and are leading their teams in scoring.
You wouldn’t think that this game was a top vs bottom clash, yet that’s exactly what it was and the Breakers got a fright right into overtime.
The Breakers continue their resurgent season with a nice win in Adelaide, and with 9 games left and a little buffer at the top of the table, thoughts of a playoff run are now a definite thing.
The Fast Break Report took a bit of a holiday over Christmas, while the Breakers kept on battling away. Well, we know that you’ve gotta give the people what they want, so here’s a recap of the stuff that happened while you were at the beach getting sunburned.
There are sports teams that'll drive their fans up-and-down-the-wall crazy, send 'em to the nuthouse in a straitjacket and back again... and then there's the Dallas Cowboys.
The NBA is a huge business and their games on Christmas day are an integral part of their overall entertainment package.
And so we have come to the end. The end of the regular season, anyway, which also means we’re almost at the beginning of the good stuff.
On Friday afternoon (NZT) the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks agreed to a 5-player plus additives trade that sent Rajon Rondo to Dallas. It just so happens that our very own Wildcard is a passionate Mavs fan, so we let him loose. Apologies for any distasteful bias that may ensue.
Steph Curry is phenomenal.
First off I have an apology to make. I didn’t meet my deadline last week for this column. It wasn’t my fault, I swear, you just gotta believe me! I TRIED SO HARD!
Two games to go. Two more chances. It’s what players play for, coaches coach for and fans, um, fan (?) for… the chance to compete for a championship.
For a few short hours on Sunday the Breakers slipped from first place. Then they beat Melbourne in Melbourne and hahahahaha!
The Grizzles seem to be the team that is quietly doing extremely well, not many people seem to talk about them but they sit a close 2nd in the West to the exciting Warriors.
That’s more like it. Still not a clinical night of shooting but easily better than last week’s travesty.
Basketball’s a tricky game. Sure, most nights you get away with it. You throw up some airballs, you don’t bother rebounding, maybe throw the odd pass into the crowd. But every now and then you have one of those awful nights, when it all goes wrong.
The win streak is over for the Breakers, after they went down in Sydney.
