Fergie's Chewing Gum - September 5

The Dreaded International Window. We all hate it because it comes right after deadline day and we want to see those hot new signings kitting up for our clubs and then they make us wait an extra week so England can stumble to a win over Norway at Wembley. At least these internationals have given us some top moments to savour.

Spontaneous Ruminations on Transfer Deadline Day

Falcao, aye? Who saw that one coming? It was meant to be Real Madrid all along that were hunting for him. Maybe Juventus. Maybe even Man City, Chelsea or Arsenal. Nobody thought he’d be a Manchester United player by the end of the day but then there’s always one massive one like this every year.

Fergie’s Chewing Gum August 29

The iconic Frank Lampard has retired from international football, right before he treks off to America for his New York adventure. He finishes with 29 goals in 106 caps. Congrats Frankie, even if your England career never rewarded you the way you deserved, it wasn’t for lack of talent or effort.

Footy Rhubarb

The hero this week is Jovetic. Aaron Ramsey was a candidate after he scored another crucial goal to earn Arsenal a point at Everton but it has to go to the Montenegro international. Jovetic scored two as Man City beat Liverpool 3-1.

Yet Another Barca Farce-a

Fergie’s Chewing Gum – August 22

This one took off in a hurry last night and it seems like it’s already set in stone. Mario Balotelli will join Liverpool for something around £16m from AC Milan, pending a medical. Allegedly LFC are putting a ‘good behaviour’ clause in Mario’s contract. Probably because of things like this...

Transfer Chewing Gum - August 19

We learned plenty of lessons in the first week of the Premier League. None more so than the fiasco at Old Trafford, where three debutants were forced to start and Nani ended up playing 45 minutes despite being allegedly axed (along with Anderson and Zaha) from all first team activities as the club prepare to sell him.

Flying Kiwis – August 18

Yeah, I know. You watch the news. Let me just refresh your memory anyway. So last week, Chris Wood had been told he was free to leave the club if he wanted to. Wolves were calling, and a fee was agreed. As basically the club’s fourth choice striker it didn’t look like too many opportunities were coming for Wood...

EPL Season Predictions

An annual tradition here, a bunch of our footy writers got together and worked out their predictions for the upcoming Premier League season. See who'll win the title, which players will stand out and who'll be the biggest muppet, plus a whole bunch more.

Flying Kiwis – August 11

Hola amigos! The new season is upon us, and although the Premier League may not kick off for another few days, the Championship (and a few of the continental leagues) got underway this past weekend, which means there are kiwis a-flying in the world of football!
