Game Sitch

• Auckland beat the Canterbury Kings by 6 wickets. The Kings got 153 with Neil Broom hitting 61 and Henry Nicholls 50. For the Aces  Luke Wright, Rob Nicol and Craig Cachopa all enjoyed a few runs.
• The Northern Districts Knights then beat Central Districts by 2 runs. Travis Birt went bang with 69 off 53 while George Worker did his best for the Stags with 78 off 59.
• The Canterbury Kings took care of business against CD, winning by 8 wickets. Will Young, a young batsmen to keep tabs on for the Stags hit 49 off 39 to help the Stags to 136. That wasn't enough though with Ronnie Hira going bang! He whacked 91 off 41, yikes.
• The Aces and Knights then went to battle with the Knights winning by 6 wickets. Auckland could only muster 134 with Jono Boult (brother of Trent) doing the damage with his tweakers, ending with 4/23 off 4. Daniel Flynn then led the Knights with a 50 at the top of the order.
• The game between Otago and Wellington was abandoned :(

• The Aces' top order, when they fire, they can swiftly take the game away from their opposition. they're a bit like a pie. Sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's just been in the heater too long.
• Mr Hira, the wee left hander who has spent a fair amount of time opening the batting for the Kings this season gave it a good smashing. The type that deserves some all you can eat, yup you can spot Hira chowing down at Valentines. Ah, Valentines.

Observations From The Observatory

• Craig Cachopa, I told ya'll last week to keep an eye on the youngest Cachopa and he delivered again.
• Oh, let me take a wee look at who has the most runs and the most wickets. Daniel Flynn leads the run getters with 322 at an average of 35.77, consistency is the key there. For the bowlers, it's Andy Ellis who has 18 wickets with a decent economy rate of 7.5. While spin is usually the go to option in T20 cricket, it's interesting to note that Ellis and Donovan Grobbelaar with 11 wickets head the list. Two skillful medium pacers.
